(In that context, please note that I am a novice in regard to computer functionality.) Please help if you can. I am already wishing that I had bought a different product, but hoping that someone can help me. I tried the Steelseries support site and it is virtually useless. I installed Pavucontrol, and it does not detect the microphone. They have no knowledge of Linux, and we speak different languages (English and Thai), so further help will not be forthcoming. I returned the set to the vendor, who (after hours of effort) were able to show that the microphone worked on their Windows10 PC. The sound does work for playing music etc. After days of attempts and searching for a fix, the microphone will not work. But recently the sound in the left ear failed, so I bought the highly recommended Steelseries Arctis 1 budget headset. I used a Plantronics headset for almost 10 years without problems, and it still works through one ear and the microphone. So I am appealing for help.īackground : I have an Asus S43 laptop some 10 years old, running Debian 11 Bullseye and the Cinnamon desktop. I have reached a dead end in trying to get my new headset microphone to work. ![]()
